The range also includes several other notable peaks such as Mount Owen, Middle Teton, and South Teton.

The name “Tetons” was derived from the French word “les trois tétons”, which means “the three breasts”. This refers to the distinctive shape of Grand Teton and its two neighboring peaks, Mount Owen and Teewinot, which appear as a trio of pointed peaks when viewed from certain angles.
