The Chama River is a favorite fly fishing destination for people from all over the United States. Many of the images in our Chama River collection were taken high in the Northern New Mexico mountains. Quite a few actually come from Coopers El Vado Ranch, El Vado Lake State Park and the surrounding area.
The El Vado Ranch is certainly one of the very best fly fishing options in New Mexico. They offer affordably priced accommodations, fishing licenses and groceries. The owner of the ranch is David Cooper. We have known he and his family for more than 50 years. They are awesome folks. We encourage you to take a week, rent a cabin and enjoy the ranch and some great fishing.
